We always offer a special discount to Guests when they mention the Steam Railway and offer early check in so they are able to maximise the time spent on the tracks.  We also offer free parking and find that the majority of our guests when visiting the Railway tend to check in early, park the car and walk the five minutes round to the Station.  Early breakfasts can also be arranged upon request.  Theres nothing like a Full English Breakfast to start the day.

I must also apologise to Mr Brent who has been a regular guest with us for the last nine years as he tried to book a room with us last week and unfortunatley, we were fully booked.  Mr Brent then managed to get in with the Premier Inn, Loughborough and was dismayed to find that he had to pay for parking and breakfast on top of his room rate, which worked out to be quite expensive

I myself am a fan of the Railway even though I am not a dedicated Train enthusiast.  They have many events on throughout the year that would appeal to everyone.  For example, Thomas the Tank Engine is visiting 29th & 30th September 2012 and it is quite magical to see him chugging along the tracks.  There is a great family fun weekend which combines with the Thomas weekend.

My favourite and the one I have already made sure that I will be attending is the Beer Festival!!.  It will prove to be a brilliant occasion and the fact that they have Live Music only adds to the excitment.  Every event I have attended at the Great Central is always proffesionally managed with polite and friendly staff and volunteers.

We are currently 3rd in the Olympic Table - just behind the USA in 2nd place and Republic of China in 1st!!

The “Big Bosses” Liz and Klaus are actually in London at the moment and are reporting daily to myself and staff with updates on the Olympics.  They say the atmosphere is ELECTRIC and are soaking up the fabulous Patriotism everyone has at the moment.  The next event they are attending is the Men’s Handball, quarter final at 6pm tonight!!  Check out our face book page later with their take on the match.

Our 42inch Flat screen is constantly on showing the Olympics and we have our flags flying.  The comfortable bar and lounge area is open to all!!  Not the same as being in London at this magical time – but with Liz, Klaus and my brother Jonathan representing us there, im sure they will join us in raising a glass of Fizz to all at the Lodge on the next Olympic medal Team GB win!!

Well done GB! We are all very proud to be British right now and especially Loughborough as the Loughborough University and town have played many roles in the preperation of the Olympics this year.  It was all very exciting when Team GB came to Loughborough to get kitted out for their Stella McCartney designed kits and uniform!

We are recommended by all funeral directors in Loughborough and the surrounding areas such as Quorn, Mountsorrel, Sileby, Barrow Upon Soar and Birstall as our location (half a mile from the crematorium), experience and understanding of this event is second to none. We have on site private parking at the Lodge with space for up to 42 cars. We also have disabled parking spaces with disabled access and facilities. Our large, light and airy atrium is ideally combined with the seating in our bar and comfortable lounge area, which enables us to cater for up to 85 guests with ease.

We have three buffet menu selections and also offer an additional choices menu. Our buffet menus have been specially designed to ensure that we have a traditional and modern range of food. The tea and coffee is served by a memeber of staff and the bar is always open for those who wish for a something a little stronger. A drinks reception i.e sherry or mulled wine in the winter months is availble or wine and Pimms in the summer months.
